25 Girls Fall Ill After Taking Deworming Tablets in Madhya Pradesh School

More than 25 girl students fell ill after consuming deworming medicine at a government school in Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday, according to officials. The incident took place at the Government Model School in Khajuri.

Dr. Deeparani Israni, the civil surgeon at the district hospital, confirmed that the girls were administered Albendazole tablets for deworming and later sought medical attention. Fortunately, all affected students were reported to be out of danger.

One of the students revealed that Anganwadi workers distributed the tablets, and within half an hour of consumption, several girls began feeling unwell. The medication was given to students from Classes 6 to 12.

Local authorities are investigating the situation to determine the cause of the reaction.
