Several teacher aspirants who passed the Teachers Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) in Maharashtra are protesting in Pune due to delays in their job appointments. The aspirants, numbering around 800, have been awaiting appointment letters for the past five months despite having cleared the TAIT conducted by the state government.

Details of the Protest:

  • Protest Location: In front of the Education Commissioner’s office in Pune.
  • Date of Protest Start: August 13.
  • Grievance: The protesters are upset over the delay in issuing appointment letters. They claimed that candidates who opted for Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools have already begun their work and are receiving salaries.

Current Status:

  • Official Response: Education Commissioner Suraj Mandhare stated that the matter is currently in court. He mentioned that he has discussed the issue with the protesters twice, explaining that the situation is under judicial review and that further action depends on the court’s verdict.
  • Court Case: The delay in appointments arose after temporary workers in Rayat Shikshan Sanstha filed a court case seeking permanent jobs, which has impacted the appointment process for the TAIT-qualified candidates.

The protesters have vowed to continue their demonstration until their demands for job appointments are met.
