The Indian Army has commenced the recruitment process for the Short Service Commission (SSC) course 2024. Eligible unmarried male and female engineering graduates, as well as widows of Indian Armed Forces personnel who passed away while in service, are invited to apply at the official Indian Army website: joinindianarmy.nic.in.

  • SSC (Tech) – 64 Men: 350 openings
  • SSC (Tech) – 64 Women: 29 openings

  • Course Start Date: April 2025 (at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy)

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

  • Must be 20 to 27 years old as of April 1, 2025. (Born between April 2, 1998, and April 1, 2005)
  • Specific age criteria for widows of defense personnel are detailed in the official notice.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must be in the final year of their engineering degree or have completed it.
  • Final-year students must provide proof of passing the engineering degree examination by April 1, 2025, including mark sheets from each semester and year.
  • An engineering degree certificate must be produced within 12 weeks of the commencement of Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA) training.

    • Click on ‘Officer Entry Apply/Login’ and then select ‘Registration.’
  3. Form Completion:
    • Carefully read the instructions and complete the online registration form.
  4. Apply Online:
    • After registration, go to the Dashboard and select “Apply Online.”
    • Choose “Apply” next to the Technical Course for the Short Service Commission.
  5. Application Submission:
    • Follow the instructions, click “Continue” to fill out the application.
    • Select ‘Save & Continue’ and review your details.
    • Click “Submit” and save the screen for future reference.

Selection Process

  • Cut-off Based Shortlisting: Applicants will be shortlisted based on the organization’s cut-off criteria.
  • Centre Allocation: Shortlisted candidates will receive an email with their centre allocation.
  • SSB Interview: Candidates must choose their SSB dates on a first-come, first-served basis. The selection process has two stages. Those who clear Stage I will proceed to Stage II.
  • Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on SSB interview scores, specific to the engineering stream/subject.
