DU Admissions 2024: Second Round of Seat Allocation and Key Dates

The University of Delhi (DU) has released a list of 6,100 vacant seats for the second round of undergraduate admissions, following the conclusion of the first round of counselling. As of now, 65,843 seats, which is approximately 91.98% of the total seats, have been filled. The results of the second round of counselling will be announced today, August 25, 2024, at 5 PM. The academic session for UG courses will begin on August 29.

Key Dates and Process:

  • Preference Change: Candidates were allowed to change their college and course preferences between August 22 and 23.
  • Result Announcement: The second round of seat allocation results will be released on August 25 at 5 PM.
  • Seat Confirmation: Students must confirm their allotted seats by August 27.
  • College Admission: Colleges will accept admissions by August 29.
  • Fee Payment: Students must pay the admission fee by August 30.

Steps to Check DU Seat Allocation Result:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to admission.uod.ac.in.
  2. Login: Click on the Login tab and enter the required details.
  3. Check Seat Allocation: Find and click on the Seat allocation link.
  4. View the Result: The seat allocation list will appear on the screen.
  5. Download: Save or print the seat allotment result for future reference.

Additional Information:

  • This year, DU has introduced a new feature on the student dashboard that allows candidates to view information about the cut-offs and ranks determining seat allocation based on their category and quota.
  • DU will admit around 71,600 students across 69 colleges, departments, and centers for the academic year 2024-25, excluding supernumerary seats. Admissions are being made for 1,559 program and college combinations.

Recent Achievements:

  • The University of Delhi moved up five spots in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, securing the sixth place nationally. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Yogesh Singh, credited this achievement to the hard work of the university’s teachers, students, and staff.
