The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a substantial increase in scholarship amounts for students in Sanskrit schools and colleges, marking the first adjustment in 24 years. This decision, approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to support thousands of students across the state.
Key Changes in Scholarship Amounts:
- Prathama Classes (Six and Seven): Increased from ₹50 to ₹75 per month.
- Purva Madhyama (Nine and Ten): ₹100 per month.
- Uttar Madhyama (Eleven and Twelve): ₹150 per month.
- Shastri Courses: ₹200 per month.
- Acharya Courses: ₹250 per month.
Additional Changes:
- The income cap of ₹50,000 per annum for eligibility has been abolished, allowing more students to benefit from the scholarships.
