On September 5, Teachers’ Day, President Droupadi Murmu will honor 50 exceptional educators with the National Teachers Award at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi. Among the distinguished awardees are teachers from Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, recognized for their outstanding contributions to education.

Teachers from Bihar

  • Dr. Meenakshi Kumar: A teacher at Shiv Ganga Girls Intermediate College in Madhubani, Bihar. Her commitment to education has earned her a place among this year’s awardees.
  • Sikendra Kumar Suman: In-charge headmaster of New Primary School in Kaimur district, Bihar. Despite the school’s small size, with only 52 students, Sikendra Kumar has modernized the institution with CCTV cameras, automatic bells, smart classrooms, and online weekly exams. His innovative approach reflects a dedication to enhancing the learning environment.

Teacher from Jharkhand

  • Dr. Asha Rani: Based in Bokaro, Jharkhand, Dr. Rani teaches Sanskrit at an intermediate school in Chandankiyari. She expressed her joy and surprise at being selected for the award, emphasizing her hard work and dedication to teaching.

Teacher from Uttar Pradesh

  • Ravikant Dwivedi: Headmaster of Bhagesar Primary School in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. Ravikant Dwivedi has introduced engaging educational methods, including a mathematics garden, to make learning more enjoyable for students.
