A male teacher at a civic school in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, has been arrested for allegedly showing obscene videos to girl students on his mobile phone. The teacher, identified as Muzammil, was taken into custody on Wednesday following a complaint from the victim’s parents.
Incident Details:
- The issue came to light when a Class 7 student, who had been arriving late to school regularly, revealed to her parents that she had been subjected to inappropriate behavior by the teacher. The student reported that Muzammil showed her and other girl students obscene videos and misbehaved with them.
- Initially, the student did not disclose the incidents to her parents or the school authorities. However, she later confided in her parents, prompting them to file a complaint with the police.
Police Action:
- Senior Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad of Shanti Nagar Police Station confirmed that an FIR was registered against the teacher based on the complaint. Muzammil has been charged under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for assault or use of criminal force with intent to outrage modesty, Section 351 for criminal intimidation, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
- The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the teacher’s misconduct and to ensure that justice is served.
