The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced a change in the date for the 70th Combined Civil Examination (CCE) Prelims, according to its latest notification. The BPSC conducts this annual examination to recruit candidates for various Group A positions across Bihar, including roles like District Coordinator, Superintendent Prohibition, and District Planning Officer.

Revised Exam Schedule: Initially, the preliminary examination was scheduled for September 30, 2024. However, the commission has tentatively postponed the exam to November 17, 2024. The specific reason for the postponement has not been disclosed, and the new dates remain tentative, meaning they could change again. Candidates are advised to regularly check the BPSC official website—bpsc.bih.nic.in—for the latest updates.

Application Process and Vacancy Details: The official advertisement for the 70th CCE has yet to be released. Once it is published, applicants will have approximately one month to submit their applications and select their examination centers. The allocation of centers will be based on the applications received.

As of August, the BPSC had received requisitions for 250 vacancies from various departments, with more expected to follow. Last year, the BPSC announced a total of 342 vacancies, and a similar number is anticipated this year once all departmental requisitions are in.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the BPSC 70th CCE, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognized university. The age range for applicants is 21 to 37 years, with upper age limit relaxations available for OBC, SC, ST, and women candidates.

Exam Format: The preliminary exam will be conducted offline and will consist of more than 150 multiple-choice questions. The topics covered will include General Science, National and International Events, Bihar and Indian History, Geography, and other subjects related to polity. For detailed information on the syllabus and reservations, candidates should refer to the official BPSC website.

This change in schedule provides candidates with additional time to prepare for the exam, and staying updated through the official channels will ensure they don’t miss any crucial information.
