At least 65 students from a government school in Jharkhand’s Dumka district fell ill after consuming a mid-day meal on Friday, an official reported. The incident took place at a middle school in the Tongra area, where a dead chameleon was allegedly found in the meal, according to officials.
The students began vomiting after eating the meal and were immediately taken to the Masalia Community Health Centre. Fortunately, their condition is reported to be stable, according to Block Development Officer (BDO) Azfar Husnain.
Tongra Police Station in-charge, Gurucharan Manjhi, stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
