In a remarkable testament to perseverance and dedication, 42-year-old Mamta Karki from Bageshwar, Uttarakhand, achieved a significant career milestone after 11 years of marriage. Mamta’s journey to success, culminating in her cracking the PCS exam and securing the position of Block Development Officer (BDO), showcases that age and life circumstances need not hinder one’s aspirations.

Mamta’s educational background is impressive: she completed her early education at Bharatiya Bal Vidya Mandir in Haldwani, pursued her intermediate studies at GGIC, and earned a BTech degree from Pantnagar University. Further advancing her academic career, she obtained an MTech from Delhi. Her academic prowess led to a position as a professor in 2005, where she taught at an engineering college.

In 2013, Mamta made the difficult decision to leave her teaching job to focus on her family and children. Despite the challenges, her husband, Jitendra Kalki, who works at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in Hyderabad, supported her decision wholeheartedly. During this period, Mamta continued her preparation for competitive exams while managing family responsibilities.

Her dedication paid off when she appeared for the Uttarakhand PCS exam in 2021 and emerged successful, earning the role of BDO. Mamta Karki’s achievement stands as a powerful example for many women, illustrating that significant career goals can be reached at any stage of life. Her story encourages others to pursue their dreams, regardless of age or personal circumstances.
