The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, have announced the launch of a joint PhD programme through the UQ-IIT Delhi Research Academy (UQIDAR). The application process for this programme, which will commence in January 2025, is now open on the official websites uqiitd.org and home.iitd.ac.in.

The joint PhD programme is open to candidates with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, healthcare, humanities, or social sciences. Successful applicants will have the unique opportunity to study at both IIT Delhi and UQ, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree jointly awarded by both institutions.
Programme Highlights:
- Study Locations: Candidates will spend three years in India and at least one year in Australia, while Australian students will spend three years in Australia and one year in India.
- Support: UQIDAR provides generous fellowships, research travel grants, and relocation support. Students will have access to academic facilities and resources at both institutions.
- Candidature Duration: Maximum of four years, contingent on progress.
Information Session: An information session about the UQ-IITD joint PhD programme will be held on Wednesday, September 25, at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm. This session will offer insights into the PhD programme, available scholarships, and the application process. Current students will also share their experiences, and there will be opportunities to ask questions.
