Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has criticized the Congress party for alleging that the Preamble to the Indian Constitution was removed from NCERT textbooks. According to Pradhan, the Congress is using this issue to engage in “politics of lies,” accusing the opposition party of having a “disgusting mentality” and a history of opposing India’s development and education system.

Pradhan’s remarks came in response to reports claiming that the Preamble had been omitted from certain NCERT textbooks. However, Ranjana Arora, Head of the Department of Curriculum Studies and Development at NCERT, clarified that these allegations were unfounded. She stated that under the National Education Policy (NEP), the NCERT has emphasized various aspects of the Indian Constitution, including the Preamble, fundamental duties, fundamental rights, and the national anthem in its textbooks.

Pradhan accused the Congress of harboring a negative view towards India’s progress and education system, alleging that their criticism reflects a lack of understanding of the Constitution. He also criticized the Congress for allegedly distorting the truth about the Constitution’s role and values, urging the party to stop using education for political gains and instead focus on understanding and upholding constitutional principles.
