Students Face Charges for Threatening Behavior at Legacy Traditional School

PHOENIX, AZ — A group of fifth-grade students at Legacy Traditional School’s West Surprise campus has been charged following an incident where they allegedly threatened another child at the school. The arrests occurred on Thursday, involving four students who are now facing charges of disorderly conduct and making threats.

Surprise Police Chief Benny Piña commended the courage of students who reported the concerning behavior to school staff, prompting swift action that included the involvement of the School Resource Officer to ensure the safety of the affected student and the school environment.

Authorities confirmed that no students were armed and there is currently no ongoing threat to the school or the surrounding community. The specific details of the threat have not been disclosed, but the students involved admitted to making the threats and were subsequently released to their parents.
