The Indian Postal Department (India Post) is set to release the Merit List for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2024, covering 44,228 vacancies across 23 postal circles nationwide. The merit list will be based on Class 10th/Matric marks from approved boards. It will also include cut-off marks and other relevant details. Historically, the merit list is published two to three days after the correction window closes. This year, the correction window was open from August 6 to August 8, following the registration period from July 15 to August 5, 2024.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 44,228 positions, including Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS), Branch Postmaster (BPM), and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak, across 23 circles. Significant vacancies include 2,718 in Rajasthan, 2,558 in Bihar, 4,588 in Uttar Pradesh, 1,338 in Chhattisgarh, and 4,011 in Madhya Pradesh.
Candidates whose names appear on the merit list will be notified via SMS and email. They must attend the document verification process for final appointment to the Gramin Dak Sevak positions in their respective circles. The verification dates will be communicated through SMS. Additionally, shortlisted candidates must submit an undertaking, as per Annexure-IX, confirming the accuracy of the information provided.
