Podar International School, Kalyan Celebrates 13th Annual Day with “Age of Superheroes” Theme

Podar International School (Cambridge International), Kalyan recently celebrated its 13th Annual Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. The event, held at the school’s Basketball Court, was presided over by the Principal, Mr. Sanjay Nandi, and featured Dr. Vijay M. Nimbalkar, a scientist from the Naval Materials Research Laboratory under the Ministry of Defence Research and Development Organisation, Ambernath, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Deepak Natha Gharat, a well-reputed police officer and social activist, was the Guest of Honour.

The event commenced at 4:30 PM with Mr. Sanjay Nandi welcoming all the guests with a sapling and a memento as a token of love and respect. The guests, along with Mr. Nandi, lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing positivity. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students, parents, and faculty gathered to celebrate the occasion.

The program kicked off with a melodious dance performance by a group of parents, followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guests and other dignitaries. Their motivational speeches were enlightening for both the parents and students. A well-synchronized yoga dance and a demonstration of self-defense skills added to the excitement of the evening. Mr. Nandi addressed the gathering with a comprehensive school report, highlighting the progress, major events, and achievements of the school.

Following this, a prize distribution ceremony was held where delegates awarded students and teachers for their proficiency in academics and sports activities. The recognition and encouragement provided a significant boost to the recipients. Mr. Nandi also spoke about the importance of superheroes in our lives, emphasizing that parents and teachers are the real role models for students. He shared tips for happy parenting, reinforcing the theme of the event.

This year’s Annual Day theme, “Age of Superheroes,” was brought to life by the talented students of Podar. The event featured rhythmic musical performances, including retro songs that bridged the generational gap between students and parents. The school ensured 100% participation, with students showcasing global dance styles through energetic and well-choreographed performances. The artistic talents of the students were highlighted through a music band featuring young singers, drummers, flutists, pianists, and guitarists.

A fabulous skit related to the theme included class dances, with the tiny tots looking adorable in their colorful attire. The highlight of the show was a dance drama paying tribute to Sindhutai Sapkal, an Indian social worker renowned for her work in raising orphaned children. Her life and contributions were depicted in a touching performance that received much appreciation from the audience.

The event was a grand success, leaving the audience spellbound and garnering unique recognition from ‘World Records India’ for maximum student participation in a multilingual spiritual drama. The dedicated efforts of the Principal, Mr. Sanjay Nandi, the school heads, and the entire team of teachers and students made the 13th Annual Day celebration a memorable and inspiring event.
