New Delhi, 16 December 2022: The Apeejay Stya Group is set to organize the 9th Indian Obstetrics and Gynaecology (IOG) Dr Stya Paul Awards 2022, recognizing outstanding contributory articles published in the IOG Journal for Basic & Clinical Research. This much-anticipated event, a significant fixture in the research and medical community, will be held at Hotel Le Meridien, Windsor Place, New Delhi, on 18 December 2022.
The highlight of the event will be an illuminating oration lecture by Dr. Camran Nezhat, Clinical Professor of OBS & GYNAE, University of California San Francisco School of Medicine; Former Chair Association of Adjunct Clinical Faculty, Deputy Chief of the Department of OBS & GYNAE, and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Surgery and OBS & GYNAE at Stanford University Medical School. He will address the audience on “How to Democratise and Standardise Surgeries with Special Reference to Minimal Invasive Gynaecology.”
Dr. Nezhat’s presentation will focus on Minimal Invasive Gynaecology, a booming specialty in the medical field. Advances in science and technology, along with improved living standards, have increased demand for differentiated medical care, treatment approaches, and quality of life. People now prioritize comfort, privacy, and recovery time alongside treatment outcomes. Minimal invasive techniques have progressed significantly, offering less pain, shorter hospital stays, and fewer complications than traditional techniques.
The theme of Dr. Nezhat’s lecture is highly relevant to gynaecologists. Future standardised procedures for different pathologies will combine the best techniques from top surgeons, ensuring the highest quality of care for all patients.
Dr. Camran Nezhat, a luminary in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, is renowned for inventing and pioneering video-assisted endoscopic surgery, which has largely replaced traditional laparotomy. His innovations have revolutionized surgery, leading to many advanced laparoscopic procedures with and without robotic-arm assistance.
Dr. Nezhat’s pioneering work has fundamentally transformed contemporary surgery, paving the way for surgeons worldwide to better serve their patients. He continues to push the boundaries of advanced procedures and develop safe, effective technologies to improve patient care and outcomes. With eight textbooks and several hundred peer-reviewed articles and book chapters to his name, Dr. Nezhat has trained many physicians who have become pillars of their communities.
This event will provide an excellent networking platform for doctors and researchers to share their knowledge and experiences with each other and other delegates. It promises to be an enlightening session, given Dr. Nezhat’s extensive expertise in laparoscopy, robotics, and endometriosis.
