In the recently announced ‘India Rankings-2024’ under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), AIIMS Bhubaneswar has made notable progress, improving its ranking in the medical category from 17th last year to 15th this year.

- Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT):
- Overall: 28th with a score of 59.94%
- University Category: 15th
- Engineering: 19th
- Law: 11th

- National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela:
- Overall: 34th with a score of 57.04%
- Engineering: 19th
- Research: 30th
Other Key Highlights:
- IIT Madras retained its top position in the Engineering category for the sixth consecutive year.
- IIT-Bhubaneswar slipped to the 101-150 rank band after holding the 91st position in 2023 and 65th in 2022.
- Utkal University was ranked 42nd among public universities but remained in the 151-200 rank band overall.
Institutional Engagements:
- XIM University and IIM-Sambalpur were ranked 43rd and 50th respectively in management education.
- International Management Institute, Bhubaneswar ranked 61st, ahead of SOA and KIIT.
- SOA and KIIT made significant strides in the law and medical categories, reflecting their strong focus on these disciplines.
Additional Notes:
- SCB Medical College and Hospital did not participate this year, despite its previous ranking of 44th in 2022.
- Several leading Odisha institutions, including Bhubaneswar-based BJB College and Maharishi College of Natural Law, did not make it to the top 300 general colleges list.
This year’s NIRF rankings underscore the growing prominence of institutions from Odisha, highlighting their commitment to excellence across various educational categories.
