A 20-year-old B Tech second-year student, Keshav, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the platform of the rapid rail station in the Muradnagar area on Sunday, police reported.
Keshav, a resident of Bahadurgarh-Jhajjar in Haryana, was studying computer science. According to DCP (Rural) Surendra Nath Tiwari, Keshav left his hostel on Saturday evening, informing his friends that he was heading home. However, at around 4 pm on Sunday, Keshav arrived at the Muradnagar rapid rail station, purchased a ticket to Ghaziabad, and wandered around the platform before tragically jumping over the railings.
Onlookers immediately took Keshav to the community health centre in Muradnagar, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
Authorities have sent the student’s body for postmortem and have informed his family. No suicide note was found at the scene, and no complaint has been lodged by his relatives as of yet. DCP Tiwari assured that appropriate action will be taken if any complaint is filed.
