Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU) in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, has introduced stricter campus access regulations to enhance safety and discipline following a recent student clash. Effective immediately, students must present both their ID card and uniform to enter the university campus.
The decision comes after a violent altercation between two student groups on Tuesday, which also involved an outsider. The clash, which occurred during a presentation of short research in the PG History Department, escalated into a scuffle, prompting immediate intervention from the university administration.
Professor Dr. Ajit Kumar stated that the university’s new policy aims to address security concerns raised by the incident. Under the new rules, security personnel are instructed to enforce ID and uniform checks rigorously. No outsider, including acquaintances or guardians of students, will be permitted entry into the campus.
The administration has emphasized that students who fail to comply with these regulations will be denied access to the campus. Additionally, Dr. Kumar has urged students to resolve conflicts through dialogue and avoid violence. The university is committed to maintaining peace and discipline and is prepared to address future disputes with stringent measures.
This new policy underscores BBMKU’s commitment to ensuring a safe and orderly environment for its students.
