Bihar’s Top Matric Students Selected for ISRO Campus Visit

Two exceptional students from Bihar have been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) campus in Bengaluru. Monty Kumar, the top scorer in the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Matric exam, and Divya Bharti, the top-performing girl, have been selected for this prestigious visit. The Bihar state government will cover all expenses for their trip, providing these talented students with the chance to explore ISRO’s groundbreaking scientific work. This initiative aims to inspire young minds and foster scientific awareness from an early age.

According to reports, District Education Officer (DEO) Pramod Kumar has already submitted the biodata and other details of both students to the Bihar education department. The government is offering this unique opportunity to the highest-ranking boy and girl in each district’s matriculation exams.

Monty Kumar, a student of Janata High School in the Sitamarhi district, achieved an impressive 95.2% in the 2024 matriculation exam. His father, Kameshwar Chaudhary, works as a laborer, while his mother, Rinku Kumari, is a homemaker. Monty, who hails from Parsauni Mailwar village, dreams of becoming an IITian and is currently pursuing Science in the 11th grade. He expressed his excitement upon learning of his selection for the ISRO visit.

Divya Bharti, who topped the district rankings among girls and secured third place overall, is a student at Kamla Girls High School in Dumra. She scored 94.2% in the 10th-grade exam and aspires to become a scientist and serve the nation. Her father, Kailash Sah Nirala, works in a private company, and her mother, Babita Kumari, is a homemaker. Divya’s family is overjoyed by her selection for the ISRO visit and takes immense pride in her achievements.
