The blended mode of learning is emerging as an effective and efficient method of education, combining the flexibility and safety of learning from home with the benefits of in-person interactions with educators. This approach is proving to be a game-changer for the entire educational ecosystem. While the offline mode of education has always been widely adopted, the pandemic highlighted the potential of online learning. The speed at which online education has addressed and solved long-standing gaps in the system is unparalleled. The education ecosystem is now pivoting towards a blended model that has the potential to overcome social, economic, demographic, and geographic challenges.
Emphasizing the importance of blended education, Rohit Gajbhiye, Founder and CEO of Financepeer, addressed the India Education Congress 2022 organized by Entrepreneur India in Chandigarh. During the session, “Opening Industry, Access, Connectivity, and Opportunities for Students,” attended by education industry stalwarts, bureaucrats, and policymakers, Gajbhiye expressed that 2022 would be a defining year for the coexistence of online and offline education.
In his address, Mr. Rohit Gajbhiye stated, “Accessibility to digital education is a key factor in the digital transformation of the education sector. It is governed by two important factors: finance and digital adoption. The edtech sector existed in the pre-Covid era, but education was more physically driven. Face-to-face education dominated the space. The advent of Covid-19 exponentially increased the digital adaptability of education. Not only did institutions adopt the digital mode, but students also quickly adapted to this new mode of learning. This has further facilitated edu-fintech companies to encourage institutions to adopt digital education.”
As the pandemic recedes, the physical mode of education is making a strong comeback. The experiences of the past two years have made people realize the importance of both modes of education. Classroom education is essential for developing soft skills and emotional intelligence (EQ), while digital education is necessary to speed up the learning process. A blended form of education maximizes the learning experience for students, ensuring their all-around development. This year could prove the coexistence and harmony between offline and online education, added Mr. Gajbhiye.
