The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the practical exam schedule for the 2024-25 academic session. While most CBSE-affiliated schools will conduct their practical exams in January 2025, winter-bound schools will hold theirs earlier, from November 5 to December 5, 2024, due to the seasonal closures in January.

SOPs for Practical Exams in Winter-Bound Regions

According to CBSE’s guidelines, practical exams, projects, and internal assessments will start on January 1, 2025, for the majority of schools. However, winter-bound schools have been instructed to conduct these exams in advance. The schools must:

  1. Finalise the list of candidates to ensure only registered students participate.
  2. Coordinate with their respective Regional Offices to appoint external examiners and observers.
  3. Complete all practicals and internal assessments on time, ensuring the prompt dispatch of answer books to the regional offices.

This early exam schedule allows schools to complete assessments before the January winter break, ensuring smooth academic progression.

Conclusion

CBSE’s proactive approach in managing the winter closures ensures that students in winter-bound schools can complete their practical exams without delay. Schools are urged to adhere to the guidelines and complete all required processes within the specified time frame.
