A 28-year-old civil services aspirant reportedly died by suicide after jumping from the eighth floor of a building in Thane, Maharashtra, on Saturday evening, as confirmed by local police. The incident occurred at around 8:30 PM in the Vartak Nagar area.

A suicide note was discovered at the man’s residence, in which he expressed regret to his family, stating that he was unable to live up to the high expectations placed upon him. According to police, the man’s friends revealed that he had been battling depression after failing to clear the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam, which may have led him to take this extreme step.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body has been sent for a postmortem, and the police have registered the case as an accidental death.
