Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central Noida, Suniti, has been removed from her post following allegations of inaction and suppression of a serious incident involving the misbehavior of police officials towards a woman and a cab driver named Rupesh Tomar. The incident took place on August 2 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was allegedly harassed by three police officials: Trainee Sub-Inspector Amit Mishra, and his colleagues Abhinav and Ashish.

According to reports, the woman was in a cab when the police officials misbehaved with her upon reaching her destination. The officials reportedly accused her of being a call girl and forcibly took her away in their vehicle. The cab driver, Rupesh Tomar, was also assaulted and had Rs 7,000 stolen from his car by the officials.

When Tomar reported the incident to DCP Suniti, she allegedly attempted to suppress the complaint for two days and did not inform her seniors about the situation. As a result of her actions, Suniti has been removed from her position. Shakti Mohan Avasthy has been appointed as the new DCP of Central Noida.

Suniti, a 2013 batch IPS officer, was born on November 18, 1986, and hails from Chandigarh. She holds a BTech degree in Computer Science and was previously serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Police Commissionerate of Gautam Buddh Nagar.

In addition to Suniti’s removal, three other officers—Bisrakh police station house officer Arvind Kumar, Gaur City-1 outpost in-charge Ramesh Kumar, and sub-inspector Mohit—have been suspended for failing to act on the cab driver’s complaint. The issue gained attention when Rupesh Tomar escalated the matter directly to the police commissioner, Laxmi Singh, who subsequently ordered an investigation and took disciplinary action against the officers involved.
