In a move to enhance Delhi’s public transport system, the Delhi government has introduced two new DTC bus routes. The new routes aim to cater to the needs of both school children and rural residents, offering convenient and eco-friendly transportation options.

The first of the two new routes, 892 SPL, is designed specifically for school children. This bus service will operate between Dhoolsiras village and Chhawla School, covering a distance of about 6.5 km. The schedule is aligned with school timings, offering two trips in the morning and two in the afternoon to accommodate students’ needs. All buses on this route will be powered by CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), contributing to a cleaner and greener mode of transportation. Key stops along the route include Dhoolsiras village, Bamnoli, BSF Camp Chhawla, and Chhawla village. This initiative aims to provide a safe and reliable travel option for schoolchildren.

The second new route, 892 STL, seeks to improve connectivity between rural areas and urban hubs. This route will connect Nanak Heri, a rural village, with Dwarka Sector 10, a prominent urban area. The 19-km-long route will serve commuters from Nanak Heri, Badusarai, Kanganheri, and Chhawla, providing them with better access to the city. This route aims to address the transportation challenges faced by residents of rural villages, offering them smoother access to urban facilities.

In addition to these new routes, the government has also increased the frequency of buses on Route 716, which operates between Shivaji Stadium and Dhoolsiras. By introducing two new air-conditioned CNG buses, this route now offers 16 trips daily, doubling its previous frequency. This increase in service aims to meet the rising demand and ensure better connectivity to key locations, including Lady Hardinge Hospital, Palam, and Dwarka Court.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot highlighted that these initiatives are part of the government’s commitment to making public transportation more accessible and reliable, particularly for people in rural areas and outer parts of the city. He emphasized that the new routes aim to provide a safer, cleaner, and more efficient travel experience for all commuters.

These developments reflect the Delhi government’s ongoing efforts to improve public transport, with a focus on both environmental sustainability and inclusivity for all residents.
