Former Delhi Education Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia highlighted the transformative power of quality education during the ‘Shiksha Par Baat’ event in Kondli, East Delhi. Emphasizing that education is key to eradicating poverty, Sisodia reiterated his dedication to enhancing educational access for children from all economic backgrounds. He stated that he would fight to ensure top-tier education for all students, viewing their education with the same commitment as he would for his own children.

Reflecting on his decade-long tenure as Deputy Chief Minister, Sisodia shared an instruction from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to treat the educational needs of the poorest with equal priority. “Today, the son of a street vendor and the son of the Chief Minister are studying in the same quality institutions,” Sisodia remarked.

Under his leadership, Delhi’s education system saw substantial reforms, including sending teachers and principals for world-class training and revamping school curricula. Free coaching for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, NDA, and CUET has been introduced, enabling students from Delhi’s government schools to excel at national levels. Government schools in Delhi have consistently surpassed private institutions in academic performance, with thousands of students successfully clearing IIT-JEE and NEET each year.

With Delhi’s upcoming elections, Sisodia expressed his goal to continue these reforms. “Our aim is to ensure that progress in education remains uninterrupted,” he stated, noting that many in the country still resist the educational success of underprivileged children.

Sisodia also sought public suggestions to further improve the education system in the next five years. He invited ideas on improving facilities, building on current achievements, and using technology in beneficial ways for children. Sisodia concluded by reiterating his commitment to maintaining high educational standards while exploring innovative approaches to foster student success.
