The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has set today, October 4, 2024, as the final deadline for schools to submit their List of Candidates (LOC) for students appearing in the 2024 board examinations. The submission, which began on September 5, is mandatory for registering eligible students, ensuring they can appear for the exams. Schools that miss this deadline will not be able to register students for the upcoming session, as no further extensions will be granted.

CBSE has emphasized that once the LOC is submitted, no changes to subject choices can be made. If students wish to amend their subjects, they will only be able to do so after the main examinations, and they must then appear for the revised subjects during the Supplementary exams. This stipulation aligns with the board’s Examination Bye-Laws, which dictate the results process based on initial submissions.

In an effort to streamline the process, CBSE has issued a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to address common concerns and ensure that schools adhere to the guidelines for accurate data submission. Schools have also been reminded to secure a confirmation report verifying their LOC submissions.

With no further extensions beyond today, schools must act promptly to ensure the successful registration of their students. CBSE’s strict adherence to deadlines underscores the importance of accurate and timely submissions to avoid complications in the examination process.
