Ghilman Saalim Ansari, a 22-year-old from Navi Mumbai, achieved an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the CA Final Exam, scoring 477 out of 600 marks. Known for his self-study approach, Ghilman credits his success to hard work, smart study techniques, and effective time management.
“I expected to be among the top 50 rank holders, but Rank 3 was a surprise,” Ghilman shared with Education Times. He began preparing for the CA exam in 2019 while pursuing his BCom at H R College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
Ghilman dedicated 10 to 14 hours a day to his studies, ensuring regular breaks of five to ten minutes every hour. He utilized YouTube videos to enhance his preparation. “Time management is crucial while preparing for a national-level exam,” he emphasized.
Ghilman excelled in subjects like Financial Reporting and Indirect Taxation, which significantly contributed to his high score. He advises future aspirants to plan their preparation strategy well, focus on weak subjects, maintain consistency, and avoid losing focus.
Currently, Ghilman is an article assistant at Gokhale Associates. He completed his schooling at St Lawrence (class X) and St Mary’s (class XII) in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, scoring 92% in his class XII board exams before deciding to study BCom. Looking ahead, Ghilman aspires to establish his own CA firm.
In his downtime, Ghilman enjoys spending time with friends and family. His father works as a company secretary in a private firm, his mother is a homemaker, and his elder brother holds an MBA.
Another notable achiever, Kiran Rajendra Singh Manral from Mumbai, also secured AIR 3 in the ICAI final exam 2024, scoring 477/600 or 79.50%. Out of 1,16,072 candidates, only 20,446 succeeded. Shivam Mishra from New Delhi topped the exam with 83.33%, and Varsha Arora from Delhi secured the second rank with 80%.
