Government secondary schools in Kannauj are taking significant steps to enhance career guidance for students by setting up dedicated career hubs. According to recent reports, 19 government secondary schools in the district will have these career hubs installed, with each school appointing a designated nodal teacher to manage their operations.
Key Objectives of the Career Hubs:
- Career Guidance: These hubs aim to help students explore different career options based on their interests.
- Parental Involvement: Parents will also be engaged in discussions to stay informed about their children’s skills and career choices.
- Structured Support: The hubs will feature a question box and other resources to provide students with valuable information.
The initiative, led by the Department of Secondary Education, seeks to alleviate the stress students often face when choosing a career path. Each school will designate a classroom as a career hub, which will be used to hold career fairs at the school, district, and state levels.
Career Hub Management Team:
- The principal will act as the president of the team.
- A nodal teacher will serve as the secretary, overseeing daily operations.
- Parents of top-performing students (one male, one female) from grades 9 and 11 will join the team.
- Four students will also participate as members.
Speaking to Local 18, District School Inspector Puran Singh highlighted that the career hubs will be immensely beneficial, helping students understand various career options, connect with employment opportunities, and make informed career decisions. This initiative is expected to have a profound impact on both students and parents, fostering a collaborative approach to career planning.
