The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati has introduced a new one-year Professional Master’s programme aimed at students and professionals seeking to advance their careers in Data Science and related fields. This programme offers two specialisations: Biological Data Science (BioDS) and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Application and Programme Details Interested candidates can apply through the official IISER Tirupati website at iisertirupati.ac.in. Applications will be accepted until July 31, with classes commencing on August 8. The programme features a hybrid learning model to accommodate industry participants, blending in-person and online sessions. The curriculum is designed to cover a wide range of topics, industry projects, and practical training, suitable for both newcomers and mid-career professionals.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Requirements: A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Science or Technology, or a Master’s degree in Science or Technology.
- Academic Performance:
- Bachelor’s degree holders: Minimum 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 6.0 out of 10.0.
- Master’s degree holders: Minimum 55% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 5.5 out of 10.0.
- Target Audience: Professionals from industry or other organisations, fresh graduates, and mid-career professionals.
Programme-Specific Eligibility
- Professional Master’s in BioDS: Candidates with a B.Tech in Biotechnology, BS/M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, or an M.Sc. in any Biology discipline (with exposure to Bioinformatics).
- Professional Master’s in DS-AI: Candidates must meet the common eligibility criteria and have studied Mathematics at the Class 12 level.
Programme Fees
- Application Fee: Rs. 1000 (non-refundable).
- Total Programme Fee: Rs. 2.6 lakhs.

Curriculum Structure
