The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) are among the most prestigious institutions for aspiring engineers in India. Admission to these institutions is highly competitive, requiring top ranks in JEE Mains and Advanced for undergraduate courses, and a good score in the GATE examination for postgraduate programs. Recognizing the evolving needs of the automobile industry, IIT Delhi has now introduced a specialized course tailored for professionals in this sector. Interestingly, individuals without prior experience in the automobile industry are also welcome to apply.
IIT Delhi, in collaboration with the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) Academy, has launched an Advanced Certificate Program in Automotive Operations and Future Technologies. The program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the rapidly changing landscape of the automotive industry. The course will take place over seven days at the IIT Delhi campus, offering a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
The curriculum is meticulously designed to cover a wide range of topics, including automotive operations, future technologies, team dynamics, managing with power, change management, data mining, IT and AI in dealerships, charging infrastructure, battery technology, hybrid and alternate energy vehicles, automotive health monitoring, and sustainability. It also delves into connected and autonomous vehicles, operational management, inventory and demand management, predictive analysis, and financial and marketing management.
This program is specifically crafted to address the needs of the automobile dealer community, focusing on the latest advancements and practical applications in automotive operations and future technologies. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with IIT professors, network with industry experts, and gain insights into the future landscape of the automobile industry.
Dr. Deepak Kumar, a professor at IIT Delhi’s Center for Automotive Research and Tribology, emphasized that the course has been carefully planned to integrate both management and technology subjects that are crucial for the future of the automobile industry. He highlighted that candidates would benefit from leading experts’ insights, practical experiences, and access to IIT Delhi’s state-of-the-art laboratories.
