The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur, in collaboration with Futurense Uni, has launched a new BSc./BS. degree in Applied AI & Data Science aimed at equipping the next generation of Indian talent with the skills needed to meet the increasing demand for AI professionals. This program caters to both students and working professionals by offering a flexible online format, complemented by an annual campus immersion at IIT Jodhpur.
Designed to address the growing skill gap between academia and industry, the course follows a stackable structure that allows participants to earn a Certification in the first year, a Diploma in the second, a BSc. degree by the third year, and a BS. degree by the fourth. Highlighting the importance of innovative educational models, Prof. Avinash Kumar Agarwal, Director of IIT Jodhpur, remarked, “In today’s world, creative solutions to pressing issues like human rights and sustainable development are essential. Our new AI and Data Science program equips students with modern skills to excel in a rapidly transforming global ecosystem.”
Raghav Gupta, Founder and CEO of Futurense, also emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “The rapid pace of AI-driven transformation is reshaping industries. To stay competitive, India must innovate academically. Our partnership with IIT Jodhpur ensures that students gain the expertise required to succeed in an AI-dominated future.”
The program’s curriculum includes hands-on experience with over 100 advanced AI tools, as well as technologies such as Devin AI and Claude. A unique feature of the program is the Futurense Leadership Council, comprising Fortune 500 CXOs and industry experts who contribute to curriculum design and provide mentorship to students.
The course is structured to include self-paced video lectures, quizzes, assignments, and live weekend sessions with faculty and industry leaders. Students will also have opportunities to apply their knowledge through practical assessments and projects.
