Italy is rapidly becoming a sought-after destination for Indian students seeking opportunities in fields such as management, architecture, and design. To highlight the educational prospects in Milan, Uni-Italia, the association dedicated to promoting higher studies in Italy, recently organized the event ‘Milano Meravigliosa’ in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Embassy Cultural Centre in New Delhi.
Antonio Bartoli, the Ambassador of Italy to India, emphasized the significance of educational collaboration between the two countries during his welcome address, stating, “Student exchange and mobility are essential parts of the growing bilateral partnership, as they contribute to creating long-term connections between our two countries.”
The event attracted prospective students, faculty members, and representatives from various Indian academic institutions, government bodies, and international organizations, including the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Raj Bhavan Kolkata.
Andrea Anastasio, Director of the Italian Embassy Cultural Centre, underscored the importance of student mobility in fostering cultural dialogue. He remarked, “Facilitating a fruitful exchange between Indian and Italian students helps build a deeper mutual understanding in a world that needs greater awareness of the value of togetherness.”
A panel discussion on studying and living in Milan, along with the opportunities available for Indian students, was led by Prof Rajendra Kumar, Director of the School of Architecture and Design at Lovely Professional University (LPU). Prof Kumar, an alumnus of Politecnico di Milano, praised the event, noting that it paves the way for stronger academic collaborations and talent mobility between India and Italy.
