Karnal: NSS Commemorates Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s Birth Anniversary The NSS units of Dyal Singh College, Karnal, honored the 126th birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister, with an education awareness rally and donation drive in Narsi Village’s slum areas. Themed “Inclusive, high-quality education,” the event promoted Azad’s vision of accessible education for all. Principal Dr. Ashima Gakhar flagged off the rally and commended the students’ dedication. The NSS volunteers distributed essential educational supplies to over 50 children. NSS Programme Officers Dr. Shweta Yadav, Deepak Kumar, and Dr. Chanchal Gupta expressed their support for the initiative.

Yamunanagar: 14 Haryana Battalion NCC Training Camp The 14 Haryana Battalion NCC held a combined training camp at Ganpati Institute Bilaspur under Colonel Jarnail Singh, Colonel Jitender Singh Dahiya, and Subedar Major Shehnaz Hussain. The camp included map reading, weapon training, and battle craft. Emphasis was placed on environmental conservation and reducing plastic use. Activities included rigorous physical training and cultural programs showcasing cadets’ talents. The camp aimed to foster leadership, teamwork, and self-reliance.

Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Girls College Wins Hockey Championship Guru Nanak Girls College secured the championship title at the Kurukshetra University inter-college hockey tournament at the Markandeshwar Hockey Stadium. The team won three consecutive matches, including a 4-0 victory over Government College, Panchkula. Dr. Meenakshi Gupta, head of the department, highlighted the team’s outstanding performance. Director Dr. Varinder Gandhi and Principal Dr. Harvinder Kaur praised the players for their success and contribution to the college’s sports legacy. Players Raveena, Ritika, Mahak, Rajni, Sneha, Manpreet, and Tanu were selected for the university coaching camp.

Mahendragarh: Central University of Haryana’s 10th Convocation The 10th convocation of the Central University of Haryana (CUH) will take place on November 18, with Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya as the chief guest. Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar announced that 1,338 students will receive PhD, MPhil, undergraduate, and postgraduate degrees. Prof. Rajiv Kaushik, the controller of examinations, noted that 65 PhD degrees, 8 MPhil degrees, and 46 gold medals will be awarded for academic excellence. Preparations for the event are in full swing, ensuring a smooth and successful convocation.
