KL Deemed to be University, one of India’s premier institutions, has proudly announced its successful membership in the Global Design Thinking Alliance (GDTA) after a rigorous three-level evaluation process. This achievement makes KL Deemed to be University the second educational institution in India to secure such a distinction. The membership will enable the university to collaborate with 30 member institutions from 21 countries across five continents, providing a platform to showcase the talents of its students and faculty on a global stage.
Design Thinking and Innovation (DTI) Department:
The Design Thinking and Innovation (DTI) Department at KL University in Vijayawada, India, is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. It is the first university in the country to establish such a department, with the vision of nurturing world-class entrepreneurs who can positively impact society and the world. The DTI department offers a Fundamental Course of Design Thinking and Innovation to all its students, teaching structured methods for problem-solving and applying design thinking techniques.

Dr. G. P. Saradhi Varma, Vice-Chancellor of KL Deemed to be University, expressed his excitement about joining the GDTA:

About GDTA:
The Global Design Thinking Alliance is a network of institutions that aim to advance Design Thinking education, research, and practice. The alliance creates a platform for exchanging ideas, best practices, and exploring new approaches in Design Thinking through collaboration and dialogue. Membership in the GDTA allows KL Deemed to be University to engage in debates and learning opportunities with experienced and aspiring design thinkers from diverse disciplines, strengthening ties between educators and practitioners.
Preparation and Implementation:
Achieving membership in the GDTA required nearly six months of preparation under the guidance of the KL Management and seniors. Faculty members, staff, and the Head of the DTI Department, Dr. K. Narasimha Raju, worked diligently to realize this initiative. The department aims to leverage worldwide expertise to develop innovative solutions, benefiting students and enhancing their global exposure.
