The Madhya Pradesh government has made a significant decision to introduce Sanskrit as the medium of instruction for primary classes in the state’s schools. This initiative aims to enhance cultural education and practical learning experiences for young students.
Key Details:
- Primary Classes in Sanskrit: KG 1 and KG 2 classes will now be taught in Sanskrit.
- Class Names: These classes will be referred to as Arun (KG 1) and Uday (KG 2).
- Curriculum Focus: The curriculum will emphasize learning Sanskrit, along with cultural and moral education (Sanskriti and Sanskar).
- Practical Learning: Students will interact with real animals such as pigeons and rabbits instead of just learning from virtual images.
- Admissions: Parents interested in this program can enroll their children by August 10, 2024. Priority will be given to children of working parents.
Implementation:
- Initial Launch: The first batch of 30 students will start at the Sarojini Naidu School in Bhopal.
- Teaching Methods: Students will learn to recite Shlokas and use Sanskrit greetings. Real-life objects and live animals will be used in teaching.
- Infrastructure: Enclosures for live animals are being constructed to facilitate practical learning experiences.
Future Plans:
- Expansion: The state plans to open 350 primary Sanskrit medium schools.
- Unique Fee Structure: The fees will be based on a parent’s salary, with two days’ salary being charged as the fee.
