In a disturbing incident, a government school teacher from Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district was suspended on Teacher’s Day after a video surfaced showing him cutting a young girl’s hair while allegedly intoxicated. The incident took place at a government primary school in Semalkhedi, around 40 km from the district headquarters.

Veer Singh Medha, the teacher in question, was suspended following orders from Tribal Department’s Assistant Commissioner Ranjana Singh, and further legal action is underway. District Collector Rajesh Batham confirmed that a criminal case will be filed against the teacher for his misconduct.

The incident came to light when a viral video showed Medha cutting the girl’s hair with scissors, while the girl, visibly distressed, cried during the ordeal. A local villager, who heard the girl’s cries, rushed to the school and confronted the teacher. In the video, the villager is seen warning Medha against his actions, to which the teacher arrogantly responded, “You can shoot the video, but nobody will be able to do anything to me.”

Despite Medha’s dismissive attitude, the video quickly gained traction on social media and was eventually brought to the attention of the District Collector, who ordered an immediate investigation. Preliminary inquiries, along with the girl’s statement, led to Medha’s suspension.

Collector Batham emphasized that further action would follow, with a criminal case being registered against Medha for his inappropriate and harmful behavior.
