In the realm of competitive exams, especially the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), achieving success on the first attempt is a notable accomplishment. One such inspiring success story is that of Mahadev Kumar, a young man from Pathargama block in Godda, Jharkhand. Despite facing significant financial constraints, Mahadev managed to secure a commendable 386 rank in NEET and has since been admitted to Medini Rai Medical College in Palamu.
Mahadev’s journey is a testament to perseverance and dedication. Raised in a modest household, his father, Kishan Yadav, is a milk vendor who works tirelessly to support his family. His mother passed away 16 years ago, leaving his father as the sole breadwinner. Despite these challenges, Kishan Yadav remained steadfast in his commitment to providing Mahadev with a good education.
Mahadev’s preparation for NEET was marked by intense dedication. He spent 14 to 16 hours daily studying, often balancing his time between academic pursuits and helping his father with the milk business. His educational journey began at Gyan Ganga Residential School in his village, followed by his selection to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in class 6. He continued his education there until class 10 before completing his 11th and 12th grades in Patna.
Village school teacher Bambam Bagwe recalls Mahadev as an exceptional student from an early age. His consistent performance and academic excellence were evident as he frequently topped his class. This brilliance, combined with his determination, helped him excel in the NEET exam.
Upon his return to his hometown, Mahadev was warmly celebrated by his village, who took immense pride in his achievement. His story stands as a powerful example of how dedication, hard work, and support from loved ones can overcome significant obstacles and lead to success.
