In compliance with recent judgements, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) under the National Medical Commission (NMC) has reversed its decision to cancel admissions at Radha Devi Jageshwari Memorial Medical College & Hospital. This decision follows a directive from the Patna High Court in the case involving the NMC and connected matters.
The official notice states, “Directed to refer to the judgement pronounced by the court of Patna in the case of National Medical Commission vs Radha Devi Jageshwari Memorial Medical College & Hospital with connected matters and Judgement dated in CWJC no with connected matters.”
Consequently, MARB has withdrawn the earlier issued letter of permission cancellation for admissions in the 150-seat undergraduate MBBS course for the third batch of the academic year 2021-22.
In response to the court’s ruling, the NMC has issued a public notice instructing the Dean and Principal of the medical college to acknowledge the withdrawal of the decision to cancel MBBS admissions. Previously, the NMC had deemed the admissions for the academic year 2022-2023 batch as legally invalid. However, the Patna High Court found these admissions to be legally valid, confirming that students were admitted through state board counselling processes.
This reversal underscores the adherence to legal rulings and ensures continuity in educational opportunities for affected MBBS students at Radha Devi Jageshwari Memorial Medical College & Hospital.
