Hyderabad: At a national conference on Indian Knowledge Systems-2024 at Osmania University, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy emphasized the need to integrate technology into education to meet 21st-century challenges and global standards. The conference, inaugurated on October 28 and concluding on October 30, brings together prominent scholars to discuss the intersection of traditional Indian educational philosophies and modern technology.
Prof. Reddy highlighted the concept of “Covidisation,” underlining the impact of the pandemic on education’s digital transformation. He noted that the 21st century promises significant prominence for Asian countries, especially India, and advocated for educational institutions to adopt modern teaching methods while preserving India’s educational heritage of holistic learning and knowledge dissemination.
Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram welcomed participants, emphasizing the university’s dedication to promoting discussions on traditional and contemporary educational practices. Prof. Rani Sadasiva Murthy, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Tirupati, also contributed insights on the relevance of ancient wisdom in today’s fast-evolving educational landscape.
The conference features a range of panel discussions, workshops, and presentations where scholars and educators exchange ideas on how Indian Knowledge Systems can be leveraged to enhance learning experiences. Attendees, including academics such as Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Prof. B Sudhakar Reddy, Prof. Ghanta Ramesh, and Prof. Mrunalini, discuss bridging ancient knowledge with modern education, preparing students for future challenges.
During the event, several books on ancient Vedic knowledge systems were released, underscoring the conference’s mission to deepen understanding and respect for India’s educational heritage while fostering innovation.
