The MIE SPPU Institute of Higher Education in Qatar, the international campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), is set to welcome the Vice Chancellor of SPPU, Prof. Dr. Suresh Gosavi, from October 19 to 21. The visit aims to enhance the academic programs and ensure high standards in quality and examination management at the Qatar campus, aligning with the university’s practices in India.
This visit, Dr. Gosavi’s first to Qatar, will also be joined by former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nitin Karmalkar. The Vice Chancellor’s itinerary includes meetings with key figures in Qatar’s higher education sector, including officials from Qatar University, and discussions with the executive committee of MIE SPPU.
In 2025, the Institute will see its first batch of undergraduate and postgraduate students graduate after meeting the rigorous academic and research standards set by SPPU. With a fresh intake of around 200 students for the 2024 academic year, the institute now has approximately 500 enrolled students.
“We are excited for our academic community to benefit from the insights of respected figures like Prof. Dr. Suresh Gosavi and Prof. Dr. Nitin Karmalkar,” said Yasir Nainar, president of the institute. Prof. B. B. Nath, the institute’s director, emphasized that the visit would not only help launch new courses but also guide faculty in delivering industry-focused education.
