BJP leader Smriti Irani, speaking at an event organized by the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) at Hindu College on Tuesday, highlighted the importance of nurturing entrepreneurship skills among female students for national development.
Irani, the former Union Minister for Women and Child Development, emphasized that empowering female students with entrepreneurial capabilities is key to the country’s progress. She extended her support to initiatives that promote women-led startups, announcing her backing for a campaign aimed at boosting such endeavors.
The event, titled ‘Swayamsiddha 2024’, saw the participation of over 1,000 female students from Delhi University, who were recognized for their excellence in various fields. Organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)-led DUSU, the theme of this year’s event was ‘Nari Tu Narayani’, celebrating women’s empowerment and potential.
Irani praised the DUSU for its efforts in promoting women’s empowerment, along with notable attendees including entrepreneur Ritika Jatin Ahuja, ABVP national girls’ coordinator Manu Sharma Kataria, ABVP national secretary Shivangi Kharwal, DUSU president Tushar Dedha, and DUSU secretary Aprajita.
