The University of Delhi (DU) has unveiled the academic calendar for the first year of undergraduate courses for the academic session 2024-25. Key dates and schedules for the upcoming academic year are as follows:
Academic Year Schedule
- Classes Begin: Thursday, August 29, 2024
- Mid-Semester Break: Sunday, October 27 – Sunday, November 3, 2024
- Classes Resume: Monday, November 4, 2024
- Dispersal of Classes, Preparation Leave, and Practical Examinations: Tuesday, December 24, 2024, onwards
- Theory Examinations Begin: Monday, January 6, 2025
- Winter Break: January 25, 2025
Second Semester Schedule
- Classes Begin: Monday, January 27, 2025
- Mid-Semester Break: Sunday, March 9 – Sunday, March 16, 2025
- Classes Resume: Monday, March 17, 2025
- Dispersal of Classes, Preparation Leave, and Practical Examinations: From Sunday, May 25, 2025
- Theory Examinations Begin: Saturday, June 7, 2025
- Summer Vacation: June 29 – July 20, 2025
Adjustments to Academic Calendar
An earlier notification outlined that classes for students in the third and fifth semesters were initially set to begin from August 1, 2024. To accommodate the new academic calendar, the summer vacation for the academic session 2023-24 has been extended. The updated summer vacation dates are from July 22 to July 31, 2024.
This updated schedule reflects DU’s commitment to providing a structured and well-organized academic year for its students.
