The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP), Prashant Kumar, has announced rigorous security measures for the upcoming UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2024. The directives are aimed at ensuring a smooth and disturbance-free examination process. Under these new guidelines, all examination centers and their surrounding areas will be placed under heightened surveillance.
Enhanced Surveillance and Security Installations
The DGP has mandated the upgrade and maintenance of CCTV cameras along routes leading to exam centers. In areas lacking camera coverage, new installations will be carried out. Additionally, drone cameras will be deployed in particularly sensitive regions to ensure comprehensive monitoring.
Increased Police Presence
To ensure the safety and integrity of the examination, the DGP emphasized the need for substantial police deployment throughout the examination period. This includes effective management of routes and vigilant crowd control at key transportation hubs such as railway stations, metro stations, bus and taxi stands, as well as nearby hotels and restaurants.
Joint Duties and Enhanced Police Visibility
To further bolster security, police visibility will be enhanced through the assignment of gazetted officers and magistrates on joint duty. There will be close coordination between Intelligence, STF, and District Police to ensure vigilant monitoring of potential anti-social activities. These agencies have been instructed to remain alert and respond promptly to any threats.
Search Operations and Anti-Cheating Measures
Both female and male police personnel will be stationed at exam centers to conduct searches on candidates. Additionally, rigorous inspections of photocopy shops, cyber cafes, and bike stands in the vicinity of the centers will be conducted to prevent any form of cheating or malpractice.
Secure Handling of Examination Materials
Special security forces will oversee the secure transportation of question papers and answer sheets to and from examination centers and storage facilities. These measures are designed to prevent any security breaches and ensure the confidentiality of the exam materials.
Monitoring and Emergency Response
District control rooms will remain operational throughout the exam period to swiftly address any emergencies. The social media cell has also been directed to monitor online platforms for rumors or inflammatory content and to take necessary actions as required.
These comprehensive security arrangements underscore the commitment to maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process and ensuring a fair and secure examination environment.
